Position: Consumers of Public Health
Term: October 2026-September 2030 (four years)
Who is eligible?
This position is open to Kitsap County residents who:

Self identify as having faced significant health inequities AND/OR
-
Self-identify as having lived experience in public health-related programs (examples provided in state law focus on social services programs like WIC, SNAP, home visiting nurse programs).
Applicants representing historically marginalized and underrepresented communities are given preference. Applicants cannot be city or county elected official or someone who works in or has a financial interest in healthcare.

Our Board
Our 10-member Kitsap Public Health Board is our governing body. They have broad legal authority and responsibility to protect the community's health and to enforce a variety of local, state and federal laws and regulations. They select and oversee our leadership, work with us to set our policy and priorities, approve our annual budget and enact health policies through new, local public health regulations when the need arises. This diverse group of elected officials and community representatives shares a passion for public service that contributes significantly to the health and well-being of our community.
The Kitsap Public Health Board typically meets on the first Tuesday of each month in the Norm Dicks Government Center in downtown Bremerton. See the schedule below for details or call 360-728-2235.
