Kitsap Public Health Board Actions
Declaring a public health crisis
In July 2023, the Kitsap Public Health Board adopted a "Resolution Declaring High Costs and Insufficient Access to Care are Public Health Crises."
Letter to Department of Defense
In May 2024 the Health Board signed a letter to the Department of Defense requesting increased support for military healthcare services in Kitsap County.

Kitsap Community Health Priorities
Kitsap Public Health leads a multiyear process called Kitsap Community Health Priorities (KCHP) to engage community partners and leaders in reviewing data and identifying community health priorities and strategies to address them. Johns Hopkins healthcare systems report
Kitsap Public Health District contracted with the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in 2023 to complete an assessment of Kitsap County healthcare systems and recommend strategies for improving access to care. The Johns Hopkins report was released in February 2024.
