The Kitsap Public Health Board is seeking applicants to fill its nonelected Public Health, Health Care Facilities, and Providers position.
This position is open to public health and healthcare professionals who live and work in Kitsap County. View the position description for full qualifications.
About nonelected Board positions
The 10-member Kitsap Public Health Board is composed of five elected officials (four city mayors and one county commissioner), two tribal representatives appointed by the Port Gamble S'Klallam and Suquamish tribes, and three nonelected members appointed by the Kitsap Board of County Commissioners.
Under state law, the three nonelected, nontribal positions must represent:
Public health, healthcare facilities, and providers
Consumers of public health
Other community stakeholder groups

Our Board
Our 10-member Kitsap Public Health Board is our governing body. They have broad legal authority and responsibility to protect the community's health and to enforce a variety of local, state and federal laws and regulations. They select and oversee our leadership, work with us to set our policy and priorities, approve our annual budget and enact health policies through new, local public health regulations when the need arises. This diverse group of elected officials and community representatives shares a passion for public service that contributes significantly to the health and well-being of our community.

Attending/Viewing Board Meetings
Members of the public can attend Kitsap Public Health Board meetings in person at the time and location listed at the top of the agenda. Health Board meetings will broadcast live on Comcast channel 12, WAVE channel 3, and on the BKAT website. A video recording of the meeting will be made available on our Board meetings page, typically within 48 hours of meeting adjournment.
Providing Public Comment
Verbal public comment:

Members of the public can provide spoken public comment to the Health Board by attending the meeting in person at the time and location listed at the top of the agenda.

Members of the public who attend in person can make verbal comments during the Public Comment agenda item or as specified by the Health Board Chair.

As this meeting is a regular business meeting of the Health Board, the Chair will establish a time limit for public comment to ensure enough time is allowed for all agenda items to occur prior to adjournment.

Each public commenter will receive a specific amount of time to address the board as determined by the Chair.
