Kitsap Public Health District has protected the health of our county’s residents since 1947. A 10-member Public Health Board, composed of elected officials and community representatives, is our governing body.

Accreditation

Kitsap Public Health District has been accredited by the national Public Health Accreditation Board since 2015. 

This designation means our Health District has met rigorous quality standards and measures as a high-performing public health agency and is committed to continuous innovation and improvement. 

Kitsap Public Health District receives a mix of local, state, and federal money to provide services that keep Kitsap County residents safe and healthy. View current and past budgets below for full details on revenue and spending.

 

The Kitsap Public Health Board approves the Health District's budget. The Health District's finances are reviewed each year by the Washington State Auditor's Office. Budgets and audit reports are posted below.

As a government agency, the Health District conducts public business. Records related to Health District business are generally available for public review.

We collect and store personal information voluntarily submitted to us by website users, including information submitted through complaint, inquiry, comment, and subscription forms. Adults are the primary audience for our website. We do not knowingly or intentionally collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If a child chooses to provide personal information to us, the child must first get parental consent.

How We Use and Protect Personal Information


We use personal information to support Health District services, including responding to inquiries and complaints and as necessary to conduct Health District business.


Personal information submitted through our website is stored on secure servers hosted by third-party business partners (primarily Wix). Personal information is accessible to Health District employees as needed to conduct Health District business. It may also be viewed by third-party businesses providing website maintenance and data storage. We do not sell personal information or make personal information available to third parties for marketing purposes.


You can request to review personal information that the Health District maintains about you and ask the Health District to correct any inaccuracies.


Website Analytics & Cookies


To improve our website and services, our website platform collects IP addresses and tracks information, such as user hits, page visits, and sessions. IP addresses are codes assigned to devices connected to the internet. This information is anonymous and not linked to specific people.

Established in 1947, the Kitsap Public Health District is a local government agency serving all of Kitsap County and its cities. 

As your local public health district, we work to prevent disease and injuries, promote health and wellbeing, and create safe and supportive environments where everyone can thrive.

The Health District is organized into four divisions: Administrative Services, Community Health, Environmental Health, and Public Health Infrastructure. Programs within these divisions provide vital public health services for our community.
