In week ending Nov. 22, local indicators for influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) remained low, but were beginning to increase. Local indicators for COVID-19 remained minimal. Regional laboratory surveillance most frequently detected rhinovirus among clinical respiratory specimens, with influenza A and RSV detections continuing to rise.
Fewer than 10 emergency department (ED) visits were attributable to COVID-19, influenza, or to RSV. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported four positive COVID-19 tests (1.0% of specimens tested), 14 positive influenza tests (13 influenza A, 1 influenza B; 3.8% of specimens tested), and two positive RSV tests (2.3% of specimens tested).
On average, fewer than 10 hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients.
At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there have been no COVID-19 or influenza outbreaks reported in the past four reporting weeks.
