Respiratory Illness Report: Week 41 (10/4/2025-10/11/2025)

In week ending October 11, local indicators for COVID-19 were elevated, but appeared to be dropping. Local indicators for influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) remained minimal. Regional laboratory surveillance most frequently detected rhinovirus and COVID-19 among clinical respiratory specimens.
1.0% of emergency department (ED) visits were attributable to COVID-19, fewer than 10 visits were attributable to influenza, and 0 visits were attributable to RSV. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported 26 positive COVID-19 tests (6.5% of specimens tested), 3 positive influenza tests (2 influenza A, 1 influenza B; 0.9% of specimens tested), and 0 positive RSV tests (0.0% of specimens tested).
On average, fewer than 10 hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients.
At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there have been two COVID-19 outbreaks reported in the past four reporting weeks, and no influenza outbreaks.
