In week ending Jan. 24, local indicators for influenza remained high, while indicators for COVID-19 remained minimal. Indicators for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) remained elevated in Kitsap County and in other Puget Sound jurisdictions. Regional laboratory surveillance most frequently detected influenza A and RSV among clinical respiratory specimens.

2.6% of emergency department visits were attributable to influenza, and fewer than 10 were attributable to COVID-19 or RSV. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported one positive COVID-19 test (0.7% of specimens tested), 61 positive influenza tests (60 influenza A, one influenza B; 29.0% of specimens tested), and six positive RSV tests (8.2% of specimens tested).

On average, fewer than 10 hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients.

At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there have been three COVID-19 outbreaks reported in the past four reporting weeks, and no influenza outbreaks.
