- 1 min read
In week ending April 11, local indicators for influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) continued to decline toward baseline levels. Local indicators for COVID-19 were minimal. Regional laboratory surveillance most frequently detected influenza B, rhinovirus, and RSV among clinical respiratory specimens.
1.8% of emergency department visits were attributable to influenza, and fewer than 10 were attributable to COVID-19 or RSV. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported 66 positive influenza tests (11 influenza A, 55 influenza B; 10.7% of specimens tested), 10 positive RSV tests (6.5% of specimens tested), and two positive COVID-19 tests (0.3% of specimens tested).
On average, fewer than 10 hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients.
At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there have been three influenza outbreaks reported in the past four reporting weeks, and no COVID-19 outbreaks.
