In week ending April 4, local indicators for influenza continued to remain elevated, with influenza B predominating over influenza A in local clinical laboratory detections. Local indicators also showed respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and COVID-19 circulating at low-to-moderate levels. Regional laboratory surveillance most frequently detected influenza B, rhinovirus, and RSV among clinical respiratory specimens.

2.5% of emergency department visits were attributable to influenza, 0.5% were attributable to COVID-19, and fewer than 10 were attributable to RSV. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported 93 positive influenza tests (26 influenza A, 67 influenza B; 13.0% of specimens tested), 12 positive RSV tests (6.3% of specimens tested), and 15 positive COVID-19 tests (2.1% of specimens tested).

On average, fewer than 10 hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients.

At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there has been one influenza outbreak reported in the past four reporting weeks, and no COVID-19 outbreaks.
