In week ending March 14, local indicators for influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) remained elevated, while indicators for COVID-19 remained low. Regional laboratory surveillance most frequently detected influenza A, RSV, and influenza B among clinical respiratory specimens.
2.7% of emergency department visits were attributable to influenza, and fewer than 10 were attributable to COVID-19 or RSV. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported 106 positive influenza tests (89 influenza A, 17 influenza B; 14.5% of specimens tested), 15 positive RSV tests (9.1% of specimens tested), and 11 positive COVID-19 tests (1.6% of specimens tested).
On average, fewer than 10 hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients.
At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there have been two influenza outbreaks reported in the past four reporting weeks, and no COVID-19 outbreaks.
