Respiratory Illness Report: Week 3 (1/18/2026-1/24/2026)
In week ending Jan. 24, local indicators for influenza remained high, while indicators for COVID-19 remained minimal. Indicators for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) remained elevated in Kitsap County and in other Puget Sound jurisdictions.

Respiratory Illness Report: Week 2 (1/11/2026-1/17/2026)
In week ending Jan. 17, local indicators for influenza remained high, while indicators for COVID-19 were low. Emergency department (ED) visits attributable to respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) remained high, but were beginning to decrease, both in Kitsap County and in other Puget Sound jurisdictions.

Opioid treatment hotline now available in Kitsap
Kitsap County residents can now access same-day telehealth appointments for opioid use disorder treatment through the Washington Buprenorphine Hotline (206-289-0287).

Over the past several weeks we have had a significant increase in Kitsap flu cases and emergency department visits for flu.

In week ending Jan. 3, local indicators for influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) remained high, while indicators for COVID-19 remained minimal. Regional laboratory surveillance most frequently detected influenza A and RSV among clinical respiratory specimens, followed by rhinovirus.
