Scenic Kitsap landscape: lake, houses, mountains.

Our vision:

A safe and healthy Kitsap County for all.

Routine immunizations are vital for keeping kids healthy and ready for school and fun. Safe and effective vaccines are available to prevent many harmful childhood illnesses, from measles and chickenpox to whooping cough (pertussis) and tetanus.

You can use the resources on this page to learn about the vaccines recommended for your children and services available to help your family stay up to date.

Contact your family's healthcare provider or a clinic if you have questions about vaccines or need to book an appointment. You can also reach out to our team for help:

Childhood Immunizations

Checking your child's records

You can check your child's immunization records to see which vaccines they have already had and which they might need. There are several ways to check records:

  • Contact your regular healthcare provider.

  • Use the state’s MyIR portal to access records online.

  • Visit a local pharmacy or clinic.

  • Kitsap Public Health can provide records for immunizations that have been entered into the Washington state immunization database:

Vaccines are free for kids

The Vaccine for Children Program provides vaccines to children under the age of 19 at no cost to you. Some providers may charge a fee to administer the vaccine to your child, but most insurance plans cover this fee. If your insurance does not cover the fee and you are unable to pay it, by law you cannot be billed for these fees, and they will never go to collections.
