Respiratory Illness Report: Week 42 (10/12/2025 - 10/18/2025)

In week ending October 18, local indicators for COVID-19 continued to decrease toward baseline levels. Local indicators for influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) remained minimal. Regional laboratory surveillance most frequently detected rhinovirus and COVID-19 among clinical respiratory specimens.
Fewer than 10 emergency department (ED) visits were attributable to either COVID-19 or influenza, and 0 visits were attributable to RSV. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported 22 positive COVID-19 tests (6.3% of specimens tested), 5 positive influenza tests (5 influenza A, 0 influenza B; 1.6% of specimens tested), and 1 positive RSV tests (1.5% of specimens tested).
On average, fewer than 10 hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients.
At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there has been one COVID-19 outbreak reported in the past four reporting weeks, and no influenza outbreaks.
