In week ending May 30, local indicators for influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and COVID-19 were minimal. Regional laboratory surveillance most frequently detected rhinovirus among clinical respiratory specimens.
Fewer than ten emergency department (ED) visits were attributable to influenza, RSV or COVID-19. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported five positive influenza tests (two influenza A, three influenza B; 1.5% of specimens tested), zero positive RSV tests (0.0% of specimens tested), and three positive COVID-19 tests (1.1% of specimens tested).
On average, fewer than ten hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients.
At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there have been no COVID-19 or influenza outbreaks reported in the past four reporting weeks.
