KITSAP COUNTY, WA — A webpage launched this week aims to strengthen Kitsap County’s healthcare workforce by promoting local career opportunities.

Developed by a Kitsap Community Health Priorities (KCHP) workgroup and hosted by Kitsap Economic Development Alliance (KEDA), KitsapHealthCareers.org provides a platform for healthcare organizations to jointly promote job postings and educational pathways, while highlighting the many benefits of living and working in the West Sound region.

The user-friendly webpage is designed to encourage health professionals and students to consider building their careers on the Kitsap Peninsula. Visitors can explore a wide range of job opportunities with healthcare systems, schools, and tribes, as well as healthcare education placements with colleges, residency programs, apprenticeships and more.

As noted on the webpage, Kitsap County offers the rare balance many healthcare professionals seek: a place where they can deliver meaningful, community-centered care while enjoying an unmatched quality of life. With a growing and diverse population, Kitsap provides a dynamic clinical environment allowing clinicians to make a visible impact on community health.

“Our county has so much to offer in the healthcare space,” KEDA Executive Director Joe Morrison said. “This new webpage underscores the culture of collaboration in our community, with organizations big and small joining together to improve access to services and support whole-person care.”

KitsapHealthCareers.org was created as part of KCHP, a multiyear process led by Kitsap Public Health District that engages local partners and leaders to identify and address health priorities. KCHP partners selected healthcare access as one of three priority areas in 2024, in response to ongoing workforce challenges across many healthcare fields in Kitsap County.

A workgroup of healthcare organizations, social services providers, and nonprofit groups developed the website as a collective marketing strategy to attract more healthcare professionals to the region.
