Background
The Kitsap Public Health District has had a rodent control ordinance in place since 1996. The ordinance prevents diseases that can be spread by rats, mice, raccoons, and other animals.
The ordinance requires residents and businesses to prevent rodents and wildlife from accessing potential food sources and take steps to rodent-proof buildings, among other rodent-control strategies.
