GET PREVENTATIVE CARE
A MEDICAL HOME FOR EVERYONE
Everybody should have a medical home—where you get your primary medical care, where healthcare providers know you, make sure you get regular preventive care, and coordinate your care with specialists when necessary.
When you get regular preventive care (for example, tests for high blood pressure or diabetes and screening for certain cancers) you’re more likely to catch problems early – when they are more easily treated and even cured.
Universal access to affordable health care is a problem in our country. One of public health’s primary missions is to improve access to care now, and one day, to successfully bring about access to quality, affordable care for every American. In the meantime, these resources can help you find insurance or a medical home.
